Assoc Prof Xun Hou is a gastrointestinal surgeon at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, China. He specialises in treating gastrointestinal tumors, such as stomach and colorectal cancer and performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as laparoscopic surgery.
Assoc Prof Xun Hou has been actively involved in the educating of medical students and residents. He was awarded Associate Fellow of AMEE (AFAMEE) in 2019. He serves as a consultant at the College of Basic Surgery, an organisation established by surgeons in order to provide surgical residents with quality training. His interests in medical education include curriculum design, assessment and simulation.
