The S3 Conference 2019 is the culmination of hard work, commitment and effort from three healthcare simulation institutes across the globe.

SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation (SIMS), Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM) and The Gathering Of Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialists (SimGHOSTS) have the common vision of enhancing healthcare simulation training for healthcare professionals.

The S3 Committee believes that the importance of healthcare simulation in the medical arena will only increase with time. In order to meet evolving healthcare needs and ensure patient safety, healthcare professionals must be trained to be confident and competent while administering care.

SOCIETY IN EUROPE FOR SIMULATION APPLIED TO MEDICINE (SESAM)

SESAM's mission is to encourage and support the use of simulation in healthcare for the purpose of training and research. Members include physicians and nurses from a broad range of specialties, technicians, engineers, psychologists, physicists and biologists.

SESAM organises and supports meetings in a number of different ways:

  • The Annual Meeting brings together simulation enthusiasts from all over the world for a three day meeting.
  • SESAM-supported working meetings allow members to teach colleagues key issues of simulation in an educational format and discuss defined questions in an investigational format.
  • SESAM-endorsed meetings are simulation-oriented meetings with relevance for the SESAM membership.
