About the Speaker​

 

Prof Dinker Ramananda PAI


Professor of Surgery and Director of Medical Simulation Centre,

Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Centre, India

Dr Dinker Pai is a general surgeon by training, who has been active in the Simulation Based Healthcare Education (SBHE) for the last 10 years. At present, he is Professor of Surgery and Director of the Simulation Centre at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry, India. Dr Pai's involvements in the simulation community include leadership roles like Vice President of the Pan Asia Simulation Society in Healthcare and Founder-Secretary and life member of the Singapore Society for Healthcare Simulation. He obtained the CHSE certification in 2016 and is also a TeamSTEPPS master trainer. 

Dr Pai also serves on the Editorial board of Advances in Simulation, the official journal of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM), and is a site reviewer for the Accreditation committee of Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). He is certified by NHET-SIM, Australia and has completed the Bristol Boston Masterclass for Simulation. He is the Chairperson of the technical and advisory committees for simulation of the Kerala University of Health Sciences and Visiting Consultant for Simulation at KSHegde Medical Academy, Mangalore, India. He has written several chapters and articles on simulation education in journals and textbooks.
