Assoc Prof Azura MANSOR

Associate Profesor Dr Azura Mansor is currently the Deputy Director of Clinical Services (Surgical) in University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interest in Musculoskeletal Oncology, she graduated from University of Malaya in 1998, began her career with the Ministry of Health Malaysia and eventually joined University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur since 2001. She was trained for the Orthopaedic Oncology subspecialty at Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna, Italy. She also received her Diploma in Tissue Banking with distinction, from National University of Singapore in 2009. Her team actively published research work for Orthopaedic Oncology, Tissue Banking and Tissue Engineering subjects. Assoc Prof Dr Azura has often been invited to present her work and lectures in both Orthopaedic Oncology and Human Tissue Banking at various courses and conferences. 

Passionate about teaching and learning, Assoc Prof Dr Azura spearheaded the establishment of the Pre-Housemanship Training Programme, which involves 2 months of ward attachments and weekly skill training in various departments relevant to housemanship postings. The programme was a resounding success that set the benchmark for the pre-housemanship training courses in Malaysia. She wishes to explore the latest technologies for skills learning, using the cutting-edge technologies of medical simulation as part of the armamentarium in medical training.
