Health Buddy app is a comprehensive health app that provides many useful services such as mobile payment and clinic queue updates. Please refer to these frequently asked questions to find out more.


1. Singpass provides secure authentication to protect user’s healthcare information. With Singpass, only authorised individuals can access their health information on Health Buddy app.

2. Users only need to sign in once with Singpass to access all e-Services like Appointments, Payments, Medicine Order via Health Buddy’s single sign-on feature.

3. Authorised Caregivers can log in with their own Singpass to manage their dependants’ appointment matters via Health Buddy.

Health Buddy offers several key benefits, including:

Health Hub is a national level app that allows patients and caregivers to manage their healthcare needs across all three clusters (SingHealth, National Healthcare Group and NUHS) in Singapore.

Health Buddy is customised to provide streamlined navigation and improved experience specially for SingHealth patients who visits SingHealth institutions e.g. SGH, KKH, NCCS etc.

Besides having convenient e-Services, Health Buddy also has these unique features and advantages:

1. SingHealth Personal Notifications for upcoming appointments, payment reminders.

2. Personalised Health Recommendations and Advice based on user’s health inputs, reminders and resources to proactively manage users’ health.

3. Comprehensive SingHealth Hospitals, Centres, and Polyclinics guides (e.g. find a doctor, what to bring, what to expect, visiting hours) serves as a one-stop hub for detailed information about SingHealth institutions.

4. Specialty Care modules designed by SingHealth clinicians help patients with their conditions e.g. Stroke Care, Parkinson’s Care, Senior Wellness.

5. Health Tips from SingHealth clinicians to keep healthy.

6. Stay informed about SingHealth events and webinars/talks via app banners.

​Currently, Health Buddy is only available in English and does not have a Chinese version.

However, Health Buddy has an authorised caregiver feature which allows authorised caregivers who knows English to manage their dependants’ healthcare matters via the app.


To protect user data from hackers, Health Buddy employs several robust security measures.

1. Local storage: Personal data registered within Health Buddy remains stored locally on the user’s mobile device. There is no process in place to send this data to any backend system, reducing the risk of unauthorised access during transmission.

2. Encryption: All data stored in Health Buddy is encrypted and can be accessed only through Health Buddy, providing an additional layer of security.

3. Annual Security Testing: Health Buddy app undergoes regular security testing, including annual assessments, to ensure compliance with recommended security practices.

4. No sensitive information stored: Health Buddy does not store sensitive information directly in the app. This means that even if the device is compromised, sensitive data is not accessible within the app itself.

​Your personal information in Health Buddy is treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for healthcare-related purposes (e.g. facilitate appointment bookings, medication order, personal notifications for reminders, maintain health records).

​SingHealth is committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of your personal data. SingHealth does not share your Health Buddy data with third-party companies for commercial purposes. Your data is used solely for healthcare-related purposes with SingHealth.

To ensure the accurate pairing of your data and your caregiver’s data within Health Buddy, Health Buddy have implemented a reliable verification process. Upon visiting the clinic registration counter, it is mandatory for users to bring their original identity cards (NRIC) or birth certificates (for children under 15 years old) along with their dependants.

SingHealth’s dedicated staff will carefully verify these documents to ensure correct linking of authorised caregivers and their dependants. Once verified, the link between the user and their dependant(s) will be activated promptly.

It is crucial for users to verify the correct linking of themselves and their caregivers before leaving the clinic. This immediate confirmation allows any potential errors to be rectified at the counter.

All stored data is encrypted in Health Buddy app. Only Health Buddy has the capability to access this data, and when accessing modules that required user data input, additional security measures such as a passcode and biometric authentication (like fingerprint or facial recognition) are in place.

These authentication methods ensure that only authorised individuals can access and make changes to their personal data in the app.

Health Buddy has several safety features implemented, making it safe to use:

1. Official App Stores: Health Buddy is exclusively available for download from the official channels, namely the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery. It is crucial not to download the app from any non-official website or channels to minimise the risk of fraudulent versions.

2. Secure Data Handling: Health Buddy prioritises the security of user data. All data stored within the app and during transit is encrypted, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected from unauthorised access.

3. SSL Pinning: To prevent man-in-the-middle attacks, all APIs utilised by Health Buddy are secured using SSL pinning. This mechanism ensures that communication between the app and servers is secure, reducing the risk of data interception or tampering.

4. Limited Storage of Sensitive Information: Health Buddy follows a strict policy of not storing sensitive user information within the mobile device.

5. Regular Vulnerability Scanning: Health Buddy’s servers undergo quarterly vulnerability scanning to identify and address any potential security vulnerabilities.

By adhering to these safety measures, Health Buddy aims to provide users with a secure and trusted mobile app experience, minimising the risks associated with scams or unauthorised access.

If you have doubts about the authenticity of an SMS reminder from any of our institutions, it is recommended to contact them directly through their official helpline or email (listed below) to verify the message. Avoid clicking on any links or sharing personal information if you suspect the message to be fraudulent.

To protect from SMS phishing scams, we strongly encourage users to switch from SMS to SingHealth’s Personal Notifications on Health Buddy instead.

Personal Notifications are accessed via Health Buddy’s inbox and is secure. Personal Notifications replace SMS for appointment-related alerts like appointment reminders, bill payments etc. All authorised caregivers can receive Personal Notifications for their dependants too.

​SingHealth ensures safe payment transactions on Health Buddy through trusted gateways, Singpass authentication, and secure payment methods.

1. Reputable providers employ advanced encryption to safeguard payment details.

2. Singpass authentication verifies user identity, allowing authorised individuals to make payments.

3. Health Buddy offers secure payment methods, such as credit/debit cards and mobile payments.

While SingHealth takes extensive measures to ensure the safety of payment transactions on Health Buddy, it is always advisable to exercise caution and practice good security habits. This includes using secure networks when making payments, and regularly monitoring your payment transactions for any unauthorised activity.

SingPass / Login Matters

You may encounter an error while logging in if the servers are restarting during maintenance. Kindly wait and try again later.

If the error persists after 30 minutes, please email so that we can check the error further. It will be helpful if you can attach a screenshot of the error.

Yes, you can login from overseas. However, access using Virtual Private Network (VPN) is not allowed due to security reasons.

As we do not have trademark rights in USA, Health Buddy app cannot be downloaded if your Apple App Store Country/Region or Android Google Play country setting is set to USA. Please change the country setting to Singapore to download Health Buddy. 

App Issues

Your Huawei phone may not be set to the Google Play for app updates. Please try the following:

1) If you have the option to choose which store (Huawei AppGallery or Google Play ) when you click the update button, please select "Google Play". You will then be redirected to Google Play and can download and install the app from there.

2) If you have already preset AppGallery (Huawei App Store) as the default, when prompted to update to the latest version of the app, please close the app and proceed to "Google Play Store" instead. Please update Health Buddy app from the Google Play store.

The Health Buddy app is available on Google Play and Apple App Store only. If your Huawei phone version cannot access Google Play, you will not be able to download the update.

To simplify navigation in Health Buddy app, patients can only manage appointments for SingHealth institutions - Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Changi General Hospital (CGH), Sengkang General Hospital (SKH), KK Women's & Children's Hospital (KKH), National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS), National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP).
