About the Speaker​

 

Ms Tan Hwee Yuan

Ms Tan Hwee Yuan is a critical care trained nurse, who has been facilitating simulation training since 2013. In her current position as Nurse Educator, she conducts structured in situ code blue drills, interprofessional as well as inter-disciplinary in situ simulation in various disciplines such as critical care units, emergency departments and general wards. Hwee Yuan has developed various courses on the care of patients on mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, chest tube management and management of hyper/hypokalemia, which are taught through blended pedagogies, such as problem-based learning, traditional didactics, e-learning as well as simulation.

Hwee Yuan is also passionate in developing new simulation faculty. She conducts in-house Simulation Faculty Development courses, and serves as faculty for the Simulation Essentials for Healthcare Education (SEHE) simulation faculty course and co-facilitator in SFD for regional simulation users. Within the organisation, Hwee Yuan also develops, conducts and subsequently nurtures new educators to conduct continual professional education courses.
