About the Speaker​

 

Dr Kevin Yi-Lwern YAP

Senior Lecturer, Public Health (Digital Health), Department of ​Public Health, La Trobe University, Australia

Dr. Kevin Yap is an interdisciplinary cyber-pharmacist and digital health researcher at Department of Public Health, La Trobe University, Australia. He has knowledge in digital media creation, web databases, data mining and analytics. His interests span the whole digital healthcare innovation cycle through the development, utilisation, application and/or evaluation of informatics, internet, digital and other health-related technologies in various healthcare settings to enhance medications management in patients, as well as the flow of drug-related information and knowledge to healthcare professionals and patients (e.g. drug databases, mobile apps, telemedicine, social media, virtual platforms, serious games).

He is the coordinator of the postgraduate Digital Health Course Suite. He has over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals, two book chapters, and has presented at more than 70 local and international conferences. His work has also been featured in various media channels. He has received many awards, including the Young Investigator Award by the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer, and the Re-imagine Education International Awards by the Wharton School and QS Rankings organisation. He is on several journal editorial boards and also an invited reviewer for over 30 international journals, conferences and grants.
