A/Prof Kenji Karino has been Director of the Clinical Skill-Up Centre at Shimane University School of Medicine, Japan, since 2009. He provides education for medical students and nursing students, as well as technical instruction for residents and nurses of the Shimane University Hospital. He is committed to the spread of BLS for medical safety. He also oversees the Master's degree programme for the training of medical simulator instructors, which is a first-of-its-kind programme in Japan.
