Prof Debra NESTEL Professor of Simulation Education in Healthcare,

Prof Debra Nestel is Professor of Simulation Education in Healthcare, Monash University, and Professor of Surgical Education, Department of Surgery, University of Melbourne, Australia. She serves as the programme lead for the Master of Surgical Education (Department of Surgery, University of Melbourne and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) and Master of Surgical Science (University of Melbourne) and Graduate Certificate in Clinical Simulation (Monash University). Prof Nestel also leads a national programme for simulation educators – NHET-Sim, as well as a virtual network in simulated patient methodology.
Prof Nestel is Editor-in-Chief for Advances in Simulation, the journal of the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM). She has also published over 200 peer-reviewed papers in health professions education, edited books on simulated patient methodology (2015), healthcare simulation (2017), surgical education (to be published in 2019) and research methods for healthcare simulation (to be published in 2019).
