SingHealth recognises that healthy lifestyle habits need to be inculcated from a young age, as this is the critical stage where lifelong habits may take root.
Since 2014, Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) has been promoting healthy living to primary school students in the Northeast, in partnership with the Health Promotion Board, Sport Singapore, and Tobacco Free Generation 2000.
The Millennia Kids Programme equips primary school pupils with skills to be Healthy Living Advocates through healthy living workshops, activities and family carnivals.
To date, 11 primary schools in Punggol and Sengkang have come on board the programme, which has reached out to 8,500 students in Primary 4 to 6.
