The EMPOWER app is developed by researchers and clinicians from SingHealth, Duke-NUS Medical School and the National University of Singapore using funding from the MOH National Innovation Challenge (NIC) on Active and Confident Ageing.
In light of the well-documented gaps in chronic care management, we aim to design, develop and implement a mobile app to deliver timely and personalised behavioural nudges to promote and sustain behavioural changes among patients with diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Our study aims to improve patient empowerment through the EMPOWER app and we hope you can also benefit from it by participating in our study.
Take part in the EMPOWER study
If you are aged 40 and above, clinically diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and are physically able to exercise, we need YOU in our study!
All successfully recruited participants will receive a Fitbit Versa 2 watch to enable the tracking of fitness and health data.
Some participants will also get a chance to experience the EMPOWER app which is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Stand a chance to redeem vouchers when you play the games in the mobile app!
All participants are required to take part for one year and complete two follow-up questionnaires, once every six months.
Register your interest to participate in EMPOWER and our Research Coordinators will be in touch with you!
If you know someone who fulfils the above criteria, do refer them to the study so that they can also be empowered.
