Dr Ecosse Lamoureux is a full-time tenured Professor with the Health Services Systems Research Dept. at Duke-NUS Medical School; Senior Principal Clinician Scientist with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI); Professor with the Ophthalmology Dept. NUS; and Professorial Fellow (Adjunct) with the University of Melbourne. Dr Lamoureux is also Director of the Population Health and Clinical Epidemiology Research Platform with SERI where he leads a clinical and population health research programme. Dr Lamoureux is a thought leader in: (a) the epidemiology of age-related sensory loss, particularly vision; (b) the implementation of new interventions; models of care; and screening programmes; and (c) patient-reported outcomes measurement (PROM). His national and international research programme in PROM has produced several cutting edge instruments, including novel computerized adaptive testing systems in Ophthalmology, which can optimally assess the impact of eye diseases and associated treatment effectiveness on quality of life. These AI-driven instruments have already been implemented in eye hospitals in the US, Italy, and Singapore, operationalized using the only available cloud-based platform solution in Ophthalmology for the end-to-end management of PROMs for academia, industry, and healthcare. To date, his research activities have attracted over SG$42 million in competitive grant funding. He has over 460+ publications in the top 5% of the international journals in various disciplines.
