Dr Angelina Ang
Senior Consultant, Paediatric Emergency Medicine
Team Lead, Temasek Foundation Youth Connect Programme
KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital

Dr Angelina Ang is trained as a paediatrician. She had the privilege of being part of the pioneering team which started the first Paediatric Emergency Department in Singapore in KKH in 1997. As a paediatric emergency physician, her initial interests in the field of Paediatric Emergency Medicine were in Paediatric Resuscitation, Paediatric Trauma and Childhood Injury Surveillance & Prevention.

However, since 2018, when the evolving youth mental health crisis unfolded, and made its impact in the form of increased numbers of distressed adolescents using Emergency Department Services for behavioural and mental health problems, she felt compelled to pivot her focus on this area of need. Since then, she has had the privilege of working with a diverse interdisciplinary team in healthcare institutions and in the community in the youth mental health space.

Dr Ang is also the team lead of the Temasek Foundation Youth Connect Programme. She will be sharing more about this pilot program in her talk.
