Ms Ang Bee Lian is the Senior Adviser of the Ministry of Social and Family Development, and was former Director-General of Social Welfare from 2013-2023. Ms Ang has many years of experience in policy making, program design and operations with a focus on services in the social sector.  

She has held senior management appointments in MSF and National Council of Social Service (NCSS). Over the years, Ms Ang has seeded and developed policies and programs that were key to the growth of Singapore’s social service sector. She is a current adjunct faculty lecturer at NUS and SUSS.  

Ms Ang has received several awards including the Outstanding Social Worker Award in 2000 and the Public Administration Silver and Gold Medals in 2002 and 2018.
