Education

With a purpose of building an education platform to increase the number of genomic-trained professionals across SingHealth, SD GMC offers the following educational programmes and webinars to allow interested individuals in the community to learn more about genomic medicine.

  1. Genetics Education for Medical Professionals
    This workshop will allow healthcare professionals to be equipped with practical up-to-date knowledge in the following areas to provide the best care to their patients.

    1. Clinical application of genetic testing
    2. Practical aspects of genetic counselling
    3. Current legal framework regulating genetic testing.

  2. Executive Certificate Programme in Clinical Genomics
    To meet the anticipated demand for genetic counselling in various clinical domains, the executive certificate programme aims to equip individuals with a deeper understanding of clinical genomics and genetic counselling skills by providing structured training. Integrating theoretical and practical aspects of genetic counselling, this programme provides individuals an opportunity to experience genetic counselling by role-playing or with simulated patients.

  3. SingHealth Duke-NUS Genomic Medicine Centre Seminar Series
    Speakers from clinical and research institutions from Singapore and overseas countries will be invited to share the updates of genomic medicine in clinical practice and to raise the awareness of application of precision medicine among clinicians, researchers, nurses and allied health professionals.
