Population Health Research

The SingHealth RHS Population-based, Unified, Learning System for Enhanced and Sustainable Health (PULSES) Centre Grant (CG) was established in August 2017, which enabled SingHealth to build up population health research capabilities in SingHealth and foster multidisciplinary collaborations to address the unmet healthcare needs of our population.

In a significant step towards realising its objectives, CPHRI has renewed this Centre Grant (PULSES II) through the National Research Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2025 to strengthen and expand SingHealth’s population health research capabilities.

Building on the PULSES I CG, PULSES II aims to:

• Strengthen existing facility cores and developing new cores aligning with national population health enablers (i.e. technology, financing and data sharing);
  
  
• Further integrate population health within SingHealth institutions and the Academic Medical Centre
  
  
• Further develop nationally important strategic areas of Population Health Research and Implementation;
  
  
• Continue to train population health researchers and facilitate cross-institutional collaboration;
  
  
• Build on existing networks to expand industry collaborations and strengthen technology-enabled person-centred care that is sustainable and cost-effective;
  
  
• Enable significant improvements in health outcomes in the five thematic areas (i.e., Vulnerable Adolescents and Maternal & Child Health, Diabetes and Hypertension, Complex Needs, Pre-frailty & Frailty, and Ageing in the Community), measured according to the Quintuple Aim.
