Guest Speakers:

Boel Andersson Gäre is a Professor of Quality Improvement and Leadership at the Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University and the Senior Advisor in Clinical and Improvement research in Region Jönköping County. Her broad research interests include quality, safety, co-production and value, and is tightly linked to practice.

 

Monika Allgurin is a Professor of Social Work at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University. Her research focuses on the processes and practices of inequality (re)production within various welfare contexts. She specializes in discourse and narrative analysis employed to understand the social worlds of people, organizations, and systems. Monika is one of the Editor-in-Chiefs for Nordic Social Work Research—a leading academic journal for social work research in the Nordic context.

Esther Lim

Chief Allied Health Professional, Singapore General Hospital
Advisor, SingHealth Centre for Person-Centred Care

Ms Esther Lim is currently Chief Allied Health Professional (CAHP) at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). In SingHealth, she is the Deputy Group Chief Allied Health Professional (Workforce Planning) and the Advisor for the SingHealth Centre for Person-Centred Care. Esther championed the adoption and adaptation of ESTHER Network in Singapore since 2016 and is completing her PhD studies on Welfare and Social Science at Jönköping University. Esther will be sharing some of the key findings from her current research on the translation of co-production of care in Singapore. 

Sherena Loh

ESTHER Ambassador
Co-Founder & Director, Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore

Ms Sherena Loh is a patient, an ESTHER Ambassador of ESTHER Network Singapore and the Co-Founder & Director of Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore). She was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy during her teens and came to know that she would not live past 25. However, that did not stop her from pursuing a fulfilling life, championing causes for the disability community, as well as attaining a Bachelor of Social Science (Counselling and Community Work) from Edith Cowan University, Australia, as well as a Diploma in Family Life Education, and a Diploma in Business Administration. In her sharing, Sherena will highlight narratives of her lived experience as a patient, and how it has led her to become an inspiring advocate for persons with disability.
