Social Prescribing Workshop for Family Physicians

About Social Prescribing

Social Prescribing is a means of connecting patients to a range of non-clinical services in the community and improve their health or wellbeing. In addition to “medical prescription”, a “social prescription” is needed to complete the care plan. In this post-conference workshop, we will explore what it means to family physicians and how we can apply this to our area of work.

Objectives of the Workshop

  • Knowledge of the concept of social prescribing and its relevance to family medicine and social prescribing.
  • Apply the extended consultation method to co-create a care plan.
  • Adopt a motivational interview approach to social prescribing.
