SingHealth Advance Population Health Efforts

SingHealth Community Hospitals (SCH), which introduced the novel model of care of social prescribing in its community hospitals since 2019, announced today that the institution has been appointed as the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Social Prescribing. This appointment took effect from 14 November 2024 and is the first centre of its kind in the world. This is a prestigious recognition of SCH's expertise and significant contributions in the field of social prescribing in the international arena.

New AI-assisted Physiotherapy System to Enable Home-based Rehabilitation

Patients may soon be able to seamlessly continue with physical rehabilitation exercises at home after their discharge from hospital. The AI-Assisted TelerehabiLitAtion System (ATLAS) programme, which enables patients' physical therapy to be remotely guided and monitored, will be piloted by several community hospitals in Singapore to help patients bridge care and continue working towards their optimal functional ability after their hospitalisation.

New Eastern General and Community Hospitals

The EGH Campus, which is operated by SingHealth, comprises two hospitals – the Eastern General Hospital (EGH) that will provide a comprehensive suite of emergency care, inpatient and outpatient clinical specialties; and the Eastern Community Hospital (ECH) that will provide continuing and rehabilitative care services, including specialised programmes for palliative patients, patients with dementia and patients with medical conditions to improve their work ability and facilitate an early return-to-work.
