Frailty Screening

In 2017, Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) piloted a frailty screening programme for seniors aged 55 and above. The screening assesses their balance, flexibility, power and cardio-respiratory endurance through physical tests. Questionnaires also evaluate their daily living activities, psycho-social risks and nutritional status.

Partnering Senior Activity Centres, Community Clubs and Resident Committees, we aim to screen 2,000 seniors by 2021.

Seniors found to be pre-frail will go through a four-month programme conducted by physiotherapists and dietitians from SKH. Through 16 sessions of group exercise and 6 nutrition classes, the programme aims to help these seniors improve their physical activity and nutrition levels.

Screening takes approximately one hour per person.

Get screened if you are:

  • Aged 55 years or older
  • Able to move independently (with or without walking aids)
