Active Health
AHL is an integral part of the larger ActiveSG ecosystem. Located island-wide, the labs are intentionally designed and supported by technology to promote sustained and active living across the four domains of physical activity, sleep, nutrition and screen time. Guided by Active Health Coaches who are allied health professionals, individuals understand and discover their health, fitness and wellness status through multi-disciplinary functional performance assessments and customised preventive healthcare and exercise advisory. The Labs offer experiential programmes, bringing individuals together to experience a journey of self-discovery, appreciation and adoption of appropriate fitness and lifestyle habits while building social bonds.
The Health Promotion Board (HPB) was established as a statutory board under the Ministry of Health, Singapore, in 2001 with the vision of building "A Nation of Healthy People". HPB aims to empower Singaporeans to attain optimal health, increase the quality and years of healthy life and prevent illness, disability and premature death. As the key agency overseeing national health promotion and disease prevention programmes, HPB spearheads health education, promotion and prevention programmes as well as creates a health-supportive environment in Singapore. It develops and organises health promotion and disease prevention programmes, reaching out to the healthy, the at-risk and the unhealthy at all stages of life – children, youths, adults and older Singapore residents. Its health promotion initiatives cover nutrition, physical activity, mental well-being, health screening, tobacco control and communicable disease education. Find out more at www.hpb.gov.sg.
Tampines GRC through its local community networks aims to
foster racial harmony and social cohesion, promote active citizenry and civic
responsibility, and serves as a bridge between the people and the government.
The grassroots organisations are managed by volunteers who
work with the PA to organise a wide range of programmes and activities to cater
to the needs and interests of Tampines residents from all walks of life.
Through various collaborations, Tampines GRC and its local
community partners have been working very closely together on joint projects to
achieve mutual beneficial objectives which are aimed at bringing more people
together to promote friendships and community bonding. Health Up! is one such
collaboration to engage and encourage Tampines GRC residents to adopt an active
and healthy lifestyle.
