Call for Abstracts

The overarching theme of our inaugural Asia Pacific Population Health Conference and 2nd Asia Pacific Social Prescribing Conference is City for All Ages: Emerging Paradigms. The Organising Committee cordially invites you to submit relevant abstracts that are based on population health or social prescribing research for showcasing to local and international delegates in these two regional conferences.

General Instructions 

  1. Abstracts must be based on findings of original Population Health research. The latter is defined as an interdisciplinary field focusing on the health outcomes of groups of individuals. It studies personal, behavioural and environmental determinants of health, health outcomes, and policies and interventions that link these in efforts to prevent ill-health, improve the health of populations and ameliorate health disparities.   2. Abstracts that is relevant to social prescribing’s implementation or practice, this can include research studies (qualitative or quantitative), evaluations or analysis.
  3. All authors must submit their abstract(s) online via https://for.sg/abstract24 by 31 Jul 2024, 23:59H (SGT, GMT+8). Submission via emails and other formats will not be accepted. 
  4. Abstracts must be submitted in English only. 
  5. Please note that any late or incorrectly formatted submissions will be rejected.  

Abstract Submission and Selection 

  1. The author submitting the abstract will automatically be the corresponding author for the abstract submission. All correspondence will be sent to the registered email address.  
  2. The presenting author (must be one of the co-authors) for oral presentation can be different from the corresponding author.  
  3. Each corresponding author can submit multiple abstracts. There is no limit on the number of abstract submissions per corresponding author. 
  4. All abstracts must be prepared using the provided template before uploading them to the online submission form. Abstracts should be submitted using the provided template, in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Kindly adhere to instructions for format and word count, enclosed in the template.
  5. All authors in the abstract are responsible for the accuracy of their abstract content.  
  6. By submitting the work, all authors confirm that they have complied to all ethical guidelines and legal requirements which will allow them to showcase their work in this conference. 
  7. Resubmission of abstract before the Abstract Submission Deadline is permitted, and the latest submission received will prevail. 
  8. The category chosen for poster submission must reflect the primary appointment or occupation of the submitting author at the point of submission.  
    1. Student: Existing full-time student enrolled in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) at point of submission.  
    2. Healthcare: Existing healthcare professional with primary appointment in public or private healthcare institutions which include those in intermediate and long-term care (ILTC) sectors.  
    3. Government Agencies & Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL): Existing full-time employee with primary appointment in IHLs or government agencies. 
  9. All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed based on scientific quality, originality, and relevance to population health research by the Abstract Review Committee.
  10. The submitting author of abstracts shortlisted for poster and oral competitions will be invited to an in-person presentation at the conference. Award categories for these competitions are: 
    1. Poster Competition Categories: 
      • Student 
      • Healthcare 
      • Government Agencies & Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) 
    2. Oral Presentation Competition Category: 
      • Open Category  
  11. Shortlisted submissions will require a separate poster submission. A template will be provided, and shortlisted posters will be displayed during the conference. Kindly remove sensitive information from the abstracts where applicable. Details for shortlisted submissions will be provided via email later.
  12. By submitting, authors grant organisers the right to publish submissions electronically and/or in print.
  13. Any change in corresponding authorship requires written notification to [email protected]
  14. Authors will be notified by email of the acceptance of their abstracts and shortlisting for competitions by approximately early-September 2024.  
  15. Oral presentations for abstracts shortlisted for competitions will be scheduled during the conference on 28  29 November 2024. Authors with shortlisted abstracts will be required to register for the conference. Presentation format requirements for these competitions will be shared later via email.
  16. To withdraw an abstract, kindly provide a written notification to the organising team at [email protected] by 30 September 2024, via email.
