Huso Yi is an assistant professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. He was educated in psychology, philosophy, anthropology, public health, biostatistics, and medical ethics. His research has been focused on social-ecological determinants of health, health equity, ethnographic epidemiology, community-based participatory research, mixed-methods research of health systems and practices, global public health ethics, and translational implementation research. He is Associate Editor of Journal of Mixed Methods Research. For the past 20 years, he has been involved in over 50 research projects for at-risk, vulnerable populations in the US, China, Vietnam, South Africa, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Singapore. In Singapore, his research has been focused on health equity under the theme of “social connectedness and health.” Recently, he completed a three-year project, “Social Isolation, Loneliness and Health among Older Adults,” funded by MOE SSRTG (Social Science Research Track Grant). He will share some of the key findings from the project during his talk.
