Global Lead and Co-Developer of Healthy Conversation Skills 

Dr. Wendy Lawrence is an Associate Professor of Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton, UK. Her research interests cover all aspects of health improvement including lifestyle behaviours such as diet and physical activity, with a particular focus on ways to support behaviour change to improve population health.  Wendy and her colleagues developed 'Healthy Conversation Skills' a training package for healthcare professionals to help them support health behaviour change in brief encounters with patients. It has been embedded in NHS Health Education Wessex, and other NHS Trusts across the UK as part of the Making Every Contact Count agenda. Furthermore, Wendy as global lead for HCS has supported health and academic organisations around the world to deliver HCS training and make it sustainable.
