Profile
Dr Vincent Tay is a consultant with the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Service in the Department of Surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH), and also serves as the Campus Service Chief of the SingHealth-DukeNUS Cell Therapy Centre. He is also a visiting consultant at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, Singapore General Hospital. He graduated from the Duke-NUS Medical School and completed his specialist training in Singapore. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in plastic and aesthetic surgery at Akademikliniken in Sweden in 2019 and various observerships in China and South Korea.
Before medical practice, Dr Tay pursued pharmaceutical sciences on an undergraduate scholarship from the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and served at the Defence Medical Environmental Research Institute (DMERI). After graduation, as part of the pioneer batch of the Duke-NUS Medical School in 2011, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2013 and completed his Master in Medicine (Surgery) in 2015.
During his training in plastic surgery, Dr Tay was the first resident nationwide to receive the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Clinician-Scientist New Investigator Grant Award in 2016 and the recipient of the National Outstanding Clinician Scientist Resident award in 2017. He was subsequently awarded the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship and attained his Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) in 2019. He was inducted into the Academy of Medicine as a Fellow in 2020 under the Chapter of Plastic Surgeons. Dr Tay continues to pursue his research interests in plastic and regenerative surgery as he believes that research and innovation drive for better patient care.
