Dr Vincent Tay is an associate consultant with the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Service at the Changi General Hospital (CGH), and an adjunct research fellow at the Academic Medical Research Institute (AMRI), Duke-NUS. Beyond the general scope of plastic surgery, Dr Tay also has clinical and research interests in fat grafting, scar management and aesthetic breast surgery. He graduated from the Duke-NUS Medical School and completed his specialist training in Singapore. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in plastic and aesthetic surgery at Akademikliniken in Sweden, 2019.
Before medical practice, he pursued pharmaceutical sciences on a undergraduate scholarship from the Defence Science and Technology Agency and served at the Defence Medical Environmental Research Institute. After graduation as the pioneer batch from Duke-NUS Medical School in 2011, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2013 and completed his Master in Medicine (Surgery) in 2015. During his training in plastic surgery, he was the first resident nationwide to receive the NMRC Clinician-Scientist New Investigator Grant Award in 2016 and the recipient of the National Outstanding Clinician Scientist Resident award in 2017. He was subsequently awarded the MOH Healthcare Research Scholarship to attain his Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) in 2019. Dr Tay continues to pursue his research interests in fat grafting and adipose therapeutics as he believes that research and innovation drive for better patient care.
