Clinical Associate Professor Rosman is a senior consultant ophthalmologist in the Refractive Surgery Department and General Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
He is also a Clinical Associate Professor from SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Program and Head of the Refractive Surgery Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre, which subspecialises in the correction of myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia and presbyopia through various surgical procedures, including LASIK, LASEK, SMILE and ICL surgeries.
Clinical Associate Professor Rosman completed his medical training in 1997 at the National University of Singapore and was the Valedictorian for his graduating class. After obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine in Ophthalmology in 2007, Clinical Associate Professor Rosman subsequently went on to complete 2 advanced Fellowship Programmes on Refractive Surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre and at the VISSUM Eye Institute in Spain.
Clinical Associate Professor Rosman's research interests include refractive surgery, cataracts and the epidemiology of eye diseases among Singaporean Malays. He has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals on these topics and written several book chapters on Refractive Surgery. In addition, he has participated in numerous local and international conferences and was involved in organising and conducting instructional courses on Refractive Surgery both locally and overseas.
Clinical Associate Professor Rosman is currently an Adjunct Senior Clinician Investigator at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. He is a Core Faculty member of the SNEC Residency Program as well as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Clinical Associate Professor Rosman is also one of the main cataract surgery trainer at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
At the national level, Clinical Associate Professor Rosman is a member and treasurer of the College of Ophthalmology, Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He is also the chairman of the Refractive Surgery Sub Committee for the College.
Clinical Associate Professor Rosman is active in conducting training courses on LASIK at the national, regional and international levels and regularly conducts talks on refractive surgery and cataract at the various regional and international conferences. For his contributions, he was awarded the Asia-Pacific Association of Ophthalmology (APAO) Distinguished Service Award in 2018.
Clinical Associate Professor Rosman is fluent in several languages, including English, Chinese (Mandarin), Malay and Bahasa Indonesia.
