Professor Goh is a highly-experienced subspecialty surgeon, having performed over 1000 major HPB/transplant surgeries since becoming a board-certified specialist surgeon. He is the only surgeon in Singapore certified by both the American Society of Transplant Surgeons(ASTS) and Ministry of Health in abdominal(liver/kidney/pancreas) transplantation. His clinical and research work are well-recognized internationally, having received several awards for this. He had previously worked as a surgical fellow for 2 years at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic Rochester performing many complex surgical procedures. 

He is presently one of the highest-volume surgeon in Southeast Asia for major laparoscopic/robotic HPB/transplant surgery and has performed over 350 procedures as of 2018. He is widely-recognized regionally as a pioneer and leader in the field and is frequently invited to lecture and proctor local and regional surgeons. He is one of a handful of surgeons regionally who routinely performs laparoscopic/robotic surgery for major hepatectomies, pancreatectomies (Whipples procedure) and resections for bile duct/gallbladder cancers with a high-success rate.  

Prof Goh frequently uses transplant oncology techniques to perform complex multi-organ resections with major vascular reconstructions for borderline-resectable cancers which may be considered inoperable by other surgeons. He is also experienced in treating rare cancers such as gastrointestinal stromal tumours(GIST), neuroendocrine (carcinoid) tumours and pancreatic cystic tumours.

• Internationally recognized for his clinical and translation research work on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), pancreatic cancer, pancreatic cystic neoplasms (eg. intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, solid pseudopapillary neoplasms, mucinous cystic neoplasms), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), neuroendocrine tumors, laparoscopic and robotic surgery and extended resections for borderline resectable malignancies
