ABOUT ITXS 2025

Welcome Message

Dear colleagues and friends,

We are delighted to welcome you to the Intestinal Transplant Symposium 2025, taking place on 27th and 28th March 2025, at The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore. As part of the core mission of SingHealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre, we recognize the growing need to continuously push boundaries in advancing innovation, enhancing patient care, and expanding access to saving organ transplantation.

This year’s theme, “Navigating New Frontiers: Advancing Intestinal Transplant”, reflects our unwavering commitment to exploring innovative approaches and collaborative strategies to enhance intestinal transplant care. As we bring leading experts in this field together in this event, we also celebrate our recent achievements in this vital field, particularly the success of Singapore’s first three intestinal transplants – a remarkable milestone in our journey, as well as for our patients who have been given a brand-new lease of life following their transplants.

This inaugural symposium marks a pivotal moment in our ongoing efforts to pioneer new initiatives in the field of intestinal transplantation locally and regionally, and foster collaboration among healthcare professionals dedicated to improving patient outcomes.

The two-day programme will offer an extensive array of learning experiences and collaborative interactions. We are honoured to present this symposium as a platform for continuous learning, innovative exploration, and valuable networking to propel the field of intestinal transplantation forward. A unique pre-symposium practical surgical workshop to be held on 26th March using cadaveric specimens additionally offers hands-on opportunities for participants to learn specific skills and techniques in transplant surgery.

We are privileged to host an impressive lineup of international experts in the field of intestinal transplantation. Our distinguished speakers include Dr Debra Sudan from Duke University Medical Center, USA; Dr Girish Gupte from Birmingham Children's Hospital, UK; Prof Nigel Heaton from King's College Hospital, UK; Dr Seisuke Sakamoto from the National Center for Child Health and Development, Japan; Prof Andrew Butler from Addenbrooke's Hospital, UK; Dr Cal Matsumoto from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, USA; and Mrs Jacqueline Perhar from Addenbrooke's Hospital, UK. Their collective expertise and insights will undoubtedly foster stimulating exchanges and drive the symposium’s objectives forward.

We cordially invite you to join us in exploring best practices, exchanging impactful experiences, addressing challenges collaboratively, and delivering sustained impact collectively.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we look forward to welcoming you at the Intestinal Transplant Symposium 2025 in Singapore!
