Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant

Bone marrow is a spongy tissue found inside the large bones. Haematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow are responsible for making blood cells including red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. These stem cells are used for transplantation and can be collected from the bone marrow, peripheral blood or umbilical cord blood.
