Facing the diagnosis of a life-threatening illness can be distressing for anyone. Specialized care may be required to help patients and families cope with the illness and its treatment through different phases.
"Providing quality person-centred care"
Formed in 2020, the SingHealth Duke-NUS Supportive and Palliative Care Centre brings together health professionals of different expertise, dedicated to improve the quality of supportive and palliative care for our patients. We also foster collaboration with our community partners to achieve coordinated care and best patient outcomes.

Our Mission and Vision
With our aging population and improved survival rates brought about by medical advancement, the number of people living with symptoms from chronic and life-threatening illnesses is ever increasing.
To close the gaps and meet the rising supportive and palliative care needs of the population, the Centre aims to:
- Move beyond healthcare to health, and focus on providing supportive and palliative care earlier in patients’ disease trajectory
- Move beyond hospital to community, by strengthening the capacity of community services, yet preventing unnecessary duplication/overlap of services
- Move beyond service quality to value, by implementing more efficient models of care

The Centre is committed to provide high quality supportive and palliative care, through collaboration and clinical expertise, research, education and community partnership.
