Virtual wards will become an option in public healthcare institutions from April 2024, with patients not paying more than acute inpatient care in a public hospital. Mr George, an SKH patient from the virtual ward pilot programme, shared his experience on how a doctor examined him every morning via Zoom. In addition, a nurse went to his home twice a day to administer treatment and check on him. He preferred remaining in the comfort of his home than staying in the hospital.
