Fifty staff - rigorously selected from across all the institutions under SingHealth - doffed their scrubs and stethoscopes to stage an original musical to celebrate 25 years of SingHealth.
 

The predominantly-SGH cast showcased not only their incredible talents but also the spirit, teamwork and passion that define SGH as they entertained the few thousand guests and colleagues on 7 November 2025.

Synopsis of musical

A jukebox musical set in Sunny Day Hospital, it featured popular songs from various genres to tell uplifting stories about triumph, dedication, and human relationships with the theme, “Strength, Hope and Shine”.

What do “Strength, Hope, Shine” mean to them?
We caught up with some of the talented cast and here’s what they shared:

For the special occasion, SGH’s Associate Professor Lionel Cheng created an original composition with his own heartfelt lyrics, “At the Heart”. Click here to listen to his song (internet access required)

He shares, “I felt strongly that we should have at least one original song for the healthcare worker in the musical. Something about the long nights on call, waiting for the sun to rise. The feeling of being overwhelmed at times but still pressing on. How camaraderie keeps us going. And how the focus on the patient is our North Star.”
