Singapore, 31 October 2026 – SingHealth has raised $1.25 million for the President’s Challenge 2026. The amount raised was unveiled by Guest-of-Honour President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the SingHealth President’s Challenge (SHPC) 2026 Grand Finale held at Sengkang Community Hospital (SKCH) today.
Themed “Compassion that Sustains”, the SHPC 2026 campaign reflects SingHealth’s belief that meaningful impact is achieved through sustained commitment and strong partnership. Led by SingHealth Community Hospitals (SCH), the year-long campaign saw more than 38,000 SingHealth staff, across 14 institutions, rallying together to raise funds for the President’s Challenge.
A highlight of this year’s campaign was the signature sporting event held on 5 September 2026 at Our Tampines Hub, graced by Mr Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Transport and Mayor, North-East District. The fundraising event saw more than 450 colleagues from across SingHealth institutions participating in various sports activities such as badminton and pickleball tournaments, a team relay challenge and a cheerleading competition. Other fundraising and outreach activities included a pledge card donation drive, charity bazaars, and engagement activities with the clients of SingHealth’s adopted President’s Challenge benefitting organisations.
In support of SHPC’s sustainability model introduced last year to foster long-term collaboration and community impact, SingHealth continues its partnership with four adopted President’s Challenge benefitting organisations for the second consecutive year – Abilities Beyond Limitations and Expectations Limited (ABLE), Centre for Seniors, Filos Community Services, and St. Andrew's Mission Hospital (St. Andrew's Autism Centre). Beyond fundraising, SingHealth colleagues have actively contributed their expertise and time through year-round engagement initiatives with the four adopted benefitting organisations, including health talks, community outreach activities, educational workshops and social programmes, reaching more than 700 beneficiaries in 2026. The efforts reflect SingHealth's commitment to building sustained relationships with community partners and supporting the long-term wellbeing of vulnerable populations.
Professor Ng Wai Hoe, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth said, “It is our privilege to continue supporting the President’s Challenge. I am deeply encouraged by the enthusiasm and generosity demonstrated by our colleagues across the SingHealth family, who have contributed their time, talents and resources to support those in need. Through our collective efforts, we raised $1.25 million. As we continue our partnership with our adopted President’s Challenge benefitting organisations, we remained committed to fostering meaningful, long-term collaborations that strengthen community support networks and create lasting impact for those we serve.”
Associate Professor Lionel Cheng, Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth Community Hospitals said: “Beyond delivering healthcare, we recognise the importance of supporting community organisations that help individuals live well and age with dignity. We are very heartened by the strong support from colleagues across SingHealth, whose contributions have enabled us to continue deepening our relationships with the same benefitting organisations for a second year. Through these sustained partnerships, we can better build a more resilient and connected community for those who need it most.”
