What is Trabectedin for?

Trabectedin is a chemotherapy drug usually used to treat soft tissue sarcoma. It is given as a 24-hour infusion using an infusion pump.

Side Effects

What are some common side effects of Trabectedin?

Early side effects

Nausea and vomiting may occur
There are medications available, which may prevent or decrease these side effects. If you are given these medications, take them as directed.

Delayed side effects

A drop in your blood counts may occur several days after treatment
Constipation or diarrhea
Tiredness
Water retention

Please seek medical attention if any of the following occurs:

Fever of 38°C or higher
Unusual bleeding, bruising or black stools
Pain, redness or swelling at or near injection site
Very bad muscle weakness or muscle pain
Very bad swelling with dizziness or lightheadedness
Signs of liver problem such as severe abdominal pain, tea-coloured urine, or yellowing of the eyes and/or skin
Signs of heart problems such as persistent shortness of breath, swelling of feet or lower legs
