Eye ointments are sticky oil-based medication while eye gels are sticky water-based medication.
They are both applied in the same method, directly into the eyes to treat or soothe symptoms like dryness or irritation.
They can contain different kinds of medication (such as lubricant, antibiotics, anti-inflammation etc.) to treat different conditions.
In general, the effect of eye ointment/gels tend to last slightly longer than its eye drop counterparts due to its sticky texture.
The guide below will show a step by step explanation on how to correct apply eye ointments/gels.
