Uses


What is Ex Lax (Sennosides) Chewable Tablets for?

Ex-lax® is a stimulant laxative that is used to relieve occasional constipation. It generally produces bowel movement in 6 to 12 hours.

How should I take or use Ex Lax (Sennosides) Chewable Tablets?

Ex-lax® is usually administered once or twice daily; unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor. It is not recommended for children under 6.

During use of Ex-Lax Senna, an adequate level of fluid intake should be maintained

1 chocolate bar contains 12 small squares.

BREAK the bar and administer the required number of square(s)

(1 small square = 15 mg of Sennosides)

 


Side Effects


What are some common side effects of Ex Lax (Sennosides) Chewable Tablets?

Common side effects include:

  • Abdominal cramps
  • Diarrhoea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Inform your doctor if the side effects above become severe and bothersome.

How should I store Ex Lax (Sennosides) Chewable Tablets?

  • Keep away from children
  • Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight
  • Store at room temperature

Excessive use of stimulant laxatives can cause diarrhoea and dependence.

Inform your doctor if you (or your child) experience any rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after 3 days of use. These may be signs of a serious condition.
