What is Choline salicylate oral gel for?

Choline salicylate oral gel is used to treat teething pain, mouth ulcers, denture irritation, and cold sores. Choline salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which relieves pain and inflammation. Some products may also include an antiseptic ingredient such as Cetalkonium chloride or Cetylpyridinium chloride to prevent infection.

How should I take or use Choline salicylate oral gel?

• Use this medication as recommended by your healthcare professional. Consult your healthcare professional if you are not sure how to use this medication correctly.
• Apply the gel with a washed finger, rubbing into the affected area every 3 hours when needed.
• When treating ulcers, the surface of the ulcer should be wiped free of mucus before applying the gel to allow the gel to stick more firmly.
• For denture irritation, massage the gel onto the sore area and wait at least 30 minutes before reinserting the dentures. Do not apply the gel directly on the dentures.
• Do not use in infants under 4 months old.

What should I do if I forget to take or use Choline salicylate oral gel?

Choline salicylate oral gel may be used when required for a short period of time. This means you no longer have to use it if you do not have any more symptoms. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue normally. Do not use two doses or extra medication to make up for the missed dose.
