You can help find the next medical breakthrough
Some of our once-terminally ill patients are alive today because of generous donors like you.
Your donations to SingHealth institutions support research projects that seek answers to ‘what if?’ questions that can make a real difference to patients’ lives.
For example, in 2016, researchers from the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) wanted to test their theory that a potential new cancer drug worked best in patients with a specific genetic mutation. They applied for government funding, but they were rejected three times due to a lack of evidence. Fortunately, the donor-funded NCC Research Fund was able to support the small-scale project and their theory proved correct.
Several patients who had previously been given only months to live are now alive today because of this research (

) and hopefully many more will benefit in the future. Based on the results of this donor-funded trial, the researchers received a $1.5 million government grant to conduct more extensive research in this area to further our understanding of cancer which will hopefully result in better treatments for more patients.
This medical breakthrough would not have been possible without you, our donors.
There are many more diseases that you can help us fight. From myopia in children to Alzheimer’s in the elderly, our researchers across SingHealth institutions are searching for better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases that could affect your communities and possibly your loved ones.
With your support, we will succeed.
