Date: 5 June 2021

In line with National Cancer Survivors Month in June, CanSurvive is NCCS’ annual signature event in celebration of survivorship; to raise awareness on the challenges of cancer survivors, and to celebrate life.

Cancer poses different challenges for patients, survivors and their loved ones throughout their illness trajectory. Cancer patients and their loved ones are often confronted with challenges ranging from the (1) psychological distress upon receiving the diagnosis (2) concerns over cost of treatment (3) treatment side-effects and also the emotional upheaval they go through having to deal with all these challenges. For cancer survivors in the community who have completed their treatment, the fear of recurrence is a constant worry on their mind.

Themed "Nothing is impossible. I'm possible", NCCS hopes to rally the community through this campaign to celebrate the lives of those who have survived cancer, inspire those undergoing treatment, and lend support to families and caregivers of cancer patients. As part of the campaign, there will an online webinar on 5 June 2021 (Saturday) with educational talks and performances, aimed at increasing public awareness towards the importance of early detection, early treatment and ways to lead a healthier lifestyle. NCCS will also be leveraging on this campaign and webinar to raise funds.

Funds raised will go towards the NCCS Cancer Fund (part of SingHealth Fund) in support of cancer research, patient care, cancer education and areas of greatest need.
