Dr Saadia Farooqui obtained her Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine from the Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. She began her Ophthalmology residency at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) in 2011 and completed her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2015. She was awarded the SingHealth Best Resident (Ophthalmology) in 2015 during her training. She obtained specialist accreditation in Ophthalmology in 2017.
She is sub-specialty trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus with a special interest in ocular genetic disorders. She currently serves as the Head of the department of the Eye Centre at KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Farooqui is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and actively contributes to undergraduate medical education. She is also a core faculty member of the SingHealth Ophthalmology Residency Programme, where she plays a key role in resident training and education
