Dr Thinesh graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MbChB) from the University of Glasgow, UK. He then completed post graduate exams in Internal Medicine (MRCP UK) prior to returning to Singapore. He subsequently obtained specialist accreditation in the field of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and was subsequently awarded a 1-year SingHealth HMDP fellowship at the Liver Unit, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, UK where he underwent further sub-speciality training in hepatology with a focus in liver transplant medicine.
He is currently the Director for Clinical Services for the SingHealth Duke-NUS Liver Transplant Centre and a senior consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, SGH. In addition to his clinical and teaching responsibilities, he serves as Treasurer for the National Foundation for Digestive Diseases and is a member of the executive committee for the Society of Transplantation (Singapore).
His areas of interest include liver transplantation and liver failure, viral hepatitis, metabolic & drug induced liver injury.
