Dr Andrew Ang completed his medical undergraduate studies in 2004 at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and served in National Service as a Brigade medical officer and subsequently as a HQ Medical Corps Staff officer. He obtained his MMED (Family Medicine) degree from NUS in 2011 and was conferred the Collegiate Membership MCFP(S) in 2014 after which he went on to complete the Fellowship Programme FCFP(S) from the College of Family Physician Singapore in 2015.
He is currently a Senior Consultant Family Physician and Clinic Director of Eunos Polyclinic and played a key role in the planning and initiation of clinical services at the new Eunos polyclinic which started operating on 17 Dec 2021. Other key roles include administration and execution of clinic programmes, special clinics (Health Wellness clinic, GRACE memory clinic), driving improvement initiatives in clinical outcomes and clinical medical manpower management.
On the clinical front, he is the co-lead for Cardiovascular workgroup in SingHealth Polyclinics and helms the nephrology and hypertension portfolios. He is also the SingHealth Family Physician Lead for the MOH HALT-CKD programme which aims to improve CKD care via CKD retardation interventions. Apart from clinical work, he is also actively involved in medical education as Clinical Physician Faculty Member in the SingHealth Family Medicine Residency programme where his work includes supporting residency training. Besides residents, he also teaches medical undergraduates as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Duke-NUS Medical School and Clinical lecturer of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
