Dr Suneel Ramesh Desai is a Consultant in the department specialising in Intensive Care Medicine and Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia. Academic interests include echocardiography and ultrasound in Critical Care and Perioperative Medicine, as well as Medical Education, particularly simulation, e-learning, human factors, communication, and the prevention of medical error.
He lived in the UK and worked as a Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for 7 years prior to moving to Singapore in 2015.
He qualified with MBChB in 1996 from Sheffield University Medical School, and completed his postgraduate Anaesthetic training in the UK, with advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine, and a further fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia. He obtained his MA in Medical Education at Keele University in 2010, and wrote his dissertation on simulation training in Anaesthesia Crisis Resource Management (ACRM).
