Dr Ng Jia Lin Consultant Department of Colorectal Surgery Singapore General Hospital | Safe creation of bowel anastomosis and trouble-shooting stapler-related problems is imperative for surgical residents. The aim of this workshop is to provide structured curriculum to deepen the surgeons's fundamental knowledge and principles of gastrointestinal anastomosis through didactic teachings and hands-on porcine model simulating human intestines. Asst. Prof. Cherylin Fu Wan Pei Senior Consultant Department of Colorectal Surgery Director, Pelvic Floor Disorder Service Singapore General Hospital | Pelvic Floor Disorders are a common but often unrecognised surgical problem. Appropriate treatment of such functional problems can immensely improve the quality of life of afflicted patients so that they need not suffer in silence. With a growing interest in this area in the ASEAN region, many surgical units are in the process of setting up their own Pelvic Floor Service and developing related skills. The aim of this workshop is to introduce and teach the techniques of two common operations in dealing with pelvic floor disorders - namely: Laparoscopic Ventral Rectopexy (LVR) and Sacral Nerve Modulation (SNS). This workshop is strongly recommended for experienced colorectal surgeons and advanced surgical trainees with pelvic floor interest. Click

Dr Jeremy Tan Tian Hui Senior Consultant Department of General Surgery Sengkang General Hospital | As minimally invasive surgery becomes prominent in all fields of surgery, inclusive of esophagectomy, it becomes crucial that such techniques and skills can be learned through simulation on a cadaver. The aim of the workshop is to provide a structured curriculum to enable the learning and practice of the thoracoscopic and laparoscopic components of a minimally invasive esophagectomy. This workshop is strongly recommended for general surgical residents, associate consultants and consultants wanting to gain insight and practice in minimally invasive esophagectomy. Click

Dr. Tan Ek Khoon Consultant Department of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Singapore General Hospital | As the need for kidney and liver transplant increases with more awareness on living donation, there is a demand for expertise in transplant surgery to ensure optimal outcomes in transplant recipients and donors. The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with surgical knowledge and hands-on session on multi-organ procurement and transplantation procedures of the kidney and liver in live pigs under guidance. This workshop is strongly recommended for surgeons and surgical trainees with an interest in solid organ transplantation, planning to participate in donor/recipient surgeries, and wishing to receive specialised training in this field. Assoc. Prof. Tan Bien Keem Senior Consultant Department of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery Deputy Director - Tissue Transplant, SingHealth Transplant Singapore General Hospital | Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation (VCA) is a new reconstructive option for complex defects. In this workshop, participants will learn the design and harvest of the composite abdominal wall flap based on bilateral deep inferior epigastric vessels. They will also learn how to dissect the large and small bowel for transplantation. Demonstration of the technique will be performed on a single full body cadaver. This workshop is strongly recommended for surgical trainees with an interest in multivesceral transplantation (MVT) and plastic surgical trainees. Click
