Dr Dirk Frans De KORNE

Dr Dirk Frans De Korne is the Deputy Director, Medical Innovation and Care Transformation at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital (KKH), Singapore. He also holds positions as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management. In KKH, he is responsible for the hospital’s overall innovation strategy and execution, including the alignment and facilitation of initiatives pertaining to multi-disciplinary collaborations towards patient service integration with relevant stakeholders.
Since 2003, Dr Korne has focused on quality improvement and organisational strategy in hospital care. His research and teaching work focuses on understanding the diffusion of quality and patient safety innovations, which include business process, systems design, human factors and ergonomics, and performance benchmarking.
Before his move to Singapore in 2013, he lectured at The Rotterdam Eye Hospital, Netherlands, teaching health care quality and organisational sciences as well as supervising bachelor and master graduates. He holds an MSc in Health Policy & Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a PhD in Public Health from University of Amsterdam.
