Learning never stops and at SingHealth, we believe in upskilling ourselves to meet healthcare needs. Here, I’m also thankful to be able to work with many talented and committed healthcare professionals who have taught me many things and challenged me to learn and grow more.

Dr Valerie Chew | SingHealth Translational Immunology Institute

I was inspired to join SingHealth because of the opportunity to expand my scientific career in the translational research field. Here, I get to meet and discuss research ideas with clinicians, understand more about unmet clinical needs and study how we can tackle diseases through science. The close collaboration among scientists, clinicians and clinician scientists bring fresh translational research perspectives that have benefitted me tremendously as a basic research scientist. We have robust research teams that discuss problems and find creative and innovative ways to better understand and treat diseases. It has been satisfying and fulfilling to see research outcomes translated to the bedside to benefit our patients.
