Visiting a Patient

Visiting Hours and Policy

From 24 Jan to 20 Feb 2022, only registered Caregivers / Visitors of the following will be allowed to our wards:

1) DIL patients;
2) Patients requiring additional care support from registered caregivers.

Visitors will need to show a valid negative ART / PCR obtained within 24hrs prior to each visit, regardless of vaccination status.


Vaccination-differentiated safe management measures
SCH has also implemented vaccination-differentiated safe management measures based on the patient's and visitor's vaccination status.  

Unvaccinated/Partially Vaccinated Patients  
  • No visitors allowed unless under exceptional conditions*   


Fully Vaccinated Visitors1

  • Please conduct your own Antigen Rapid Test (ART) at home within 24 hours of your visit, and indicate the date and time it was taken. Take a photo of the negative test result with the front of your NRIC and show it to our staff at Visitors Registration Counter.

1Fully Vaccinated Visitors include: (1) Persons who have recovered from COVID-19 within the last 270 days, regardless of their vaccination status; (2) Persons who have recovered from COVID-19 more than 270 days ago and are fully vaccinated; and (3) Persons who are medically ineligible to undergo vaccination (with acceptable poof of their medical ineligible status).


Unvaccinated/Partially Vaccinated Visitors 
  • Not allowed to visit our wards, unless under exceptional conditions2   
  • Show a negative ART/PCR result on HealthHub obtained within 24hrs prior to each visit. You can visit any of the MOH-approved ART Providers. To ensure that the registration process is smooth, we strongly encourage that you have the negative results of your ART before coming to the Hospital.

2Exceptional Conditions include: (1) DIL patients; (2) Paediatric patients; (3) Birthing/postpartum mothers; (4) Patients requiring additional care support. E.g. patients who have mental incapacities or family members who are undergoing caregiver training to better care for their loved ones after hospital discharge.


Outram Community Hospital (OCH)

Only One (1) designated Visitor per patient will be allowed during visiting hours at one time. Limited to once a day for 30 minutes.

Each patient can have up to Two (2) registered visitors for the duration of their admission, and receive up to Two (2) visits per day. Children below the age of 12 are not allowed to visit the wards.


Sengkang Community Hospital (SKCH)

Only One (1) designated Visitor per patient will be allowed during visiting hours. Limited to once a day for 30 minutes.

Each patient can have up to Two (2) registered visitors for the duration of their admission, and receive up to Two (2) visits per day. Children below the age of 12 are not allowed to visit the wards.

Visiting Hours
12.00pm - 2.00pm
5.00pm - 8.30pm

We understand that these measures may cause some inconvenience. For our patients' and your safety, please bear with these stricter measures to reduce unnecessary visitor movement in the hospital. Thank you for your patience.


While visiting the wards, we seek your co-operation for the following to reduce the risk of infection and keep our patients safe:

For patients' confidentiality, please also note that photography and videography of patients and their families are not allowed.
