Cellulitis

If your diabetes and high blood pressure are not controlled, you may suffer from chronic kidney disease, whereby the kidneys gradually lose its function over time, leading to waste and fluid build-up in the body.

Please take only clear liquids, such as water and clear soups, juices with no pulp, or tea and coffee with no milk or cream.

Given your father's condition, the team suggests we continue to provide care to relieve his symptoms and ensure his comfort.
Comfort feeding (aka Pleasure feeding)
1. Mode of oral feeding which allows patients on nasogastric tubes to take small amounts of food or drinks to improve quality of life, OR
2. Mode of oral feeding which allows patient who are on end-of-life to take small amounts of preferred food or drinks to optimise quality of life
In view of the patient’s illness and condition, patients are allowed to consume their preferred food and drinks in small amounts, to make them feel better.
Complete rest in bed (CRIB)
Not allowed to get out of bed
To help you recover faster, you are not allowed to get out of bed. If you need any help, please press the call bell for the nurses.
Conservative management
Not go for operation or do anything major
Given your condition, we recommend that you not go for operation or do anything major.
Contact guard assist
The caregiver places one or two hands on the patient’s body to help with balance but provides no other assistance to perform the functional mobility task
With contact guard assist, the therapist only requires one or two hands on your body to execute the functional action, but no extra support is required. The touch is established to aid with body stabilization or balance.
Contracture
Tightening of the muscles and tissues, causing pain, and affecting normal movement
Therapists can teach patients and equip them to manage the tightened muscles and restricted joints.
CP-CRE swap (CRE stands for Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae)
Take a swab from inside your anus to test for the bacteria
As you have stayed with us for the past 14 days, we would need to take a swab from inside your anus to test for a bacteria called CP-CRE. We will do this every two week as a regular check.
CVC dressing (CVC stands for Central Venous Catheter)
Dressing of the tube that was inserted
Each week, the nurse will check the dressing of the tube that was inserted.
