Profile

Clinical Associate Professor Seah holds a MBBS from the then University of Singapore and Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and College of Ophthalmology; UK. She received her fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery at the London Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, UK and Orbital Surgery Centre at the Vancouver Eye Centre in Canada. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and appointed as the Adjunct Associate Professor in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. In recognition of her contribution to the development of Orbit sub specialty at the Singapore National Eye Centre and the region, she was elected to be a member of the “Orbit Society” in 2008 organized by the International Orbital Surgeons and Vice President of the International Thyroid Eye Disease Society in 2017.

Clinical Associate Professor Seah is the past head of Oculoplastic Department and is one of the few pioneers in the Oculoplastic and Orbit sub-specialty. She is recognized for her contribution to the establishment and the development of the Oculoplastic Department, Orbit and Ophthalmic Prosthetic services in the Singapore National Eye Centre and Paediatric Oculoplastic in the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. Her vast clinical experience covers eyelids, lacrimal, orbit, socket diseases and surgery and aesthetic procedures both in children and adults. Her special interests are: paediatric eyelid disorders, thyroid eye disease, orbital diseases and socket reconstructive surgery.

Clinical Associate Professor Seah is particularly active in medical education for undergraduate and post-graduate medical students of the National University of Singapore and has been a regular examiner in the ophthalmology undergraduate and fellowship examinations both local and in the region. She has also been a mentor for many local and overseas fellows for advanced fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery.
Her international participation includes numerous presentations as an invited speaker. She had held the chair in regional and international conferences and the chair of organizing committee of regional and international orbital symposia and oculoplastic workshops.

She has numerous publications to her credit in peer reviewed journals and has been invited as reviewers for many ophthalmic and oculoplastic journals. Her current research projects focus on thyroid eye disease, lacrimal gland disease and biomedical implants for Orbital Surgery.
