Dr Rebecca Heywood joined JurongHealth Campus in 2015. She is a Consultant practising at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre. Her areas of sub-specialty practice are in otology, lateral skull base surgery and hearing implants.

Dr Heywood graduated from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom in 1998 and did her postgraduate surgical training in London. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Otorhinolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery in 2012. She completed fellowship training in otology and skull base surgery at the Ear Science Institute Australia and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth. In addition, she did clinical attachments in otology and skull base surgery at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, Causse Clinic in Beziers and Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

Dr Heywood participated in stem cell research at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, Manchester and has published and presented clinical research in all areas of ENT. Her current research is focused on hearing loss and cognitive functioning in the ageing population in collaboration with the Ear Science Institute Australia, and a number of institutions and researchers in Singapore.

Actively involved in clinical education, Dr Heywood has previously held faculty positions teaching ENT, otology and skull base courses locally and internationally. She is also Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Ear Sciences Centre, University of Western Australia and Ear Science Institute Australia, and Clinical Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore.
